Don't sweat, keep your makeup smudge-free

To dance away nine nights without worrying about their look, Amdavadi women are making a beeline for plastic surgeons and cosmetologists offering permanent makeup, Botox shots
Amee Modi bore extreme pain inflicted by repeated needle pricks for hours on Wednes day. No, the 20-year-old was not suffering from any ailment. It was all done for the perfect look this Navratri. Amee no longer has to worry about smudged kajal, fading lipstick or the sweat melting her look, thanks to permanent makeup, a cosmetic tattooing procedure. In this treatment, a needle inserts colour pigment under the skin at the base of your eyes or over lashes, on the border of your lips or on the lips fully. SHORT TREATMENTS

There has been a 20 per cent rise in skin whitening, skin lightening and thread facelift cases before Navratri. However, people opt for more shorttime treatments like skin whitening, skin lightening and thread facelift treatments as Navratri nears. Dr Ayyappan Thangavel, director of cosmetic & plastic surgery, at SAL Hospital said that these treatments take minimum time and give maximum effect in enhancing beauty.

“Through Botox and fillers, people overcome various facial deformations. During festive season, it is natural for people to opt for such treatments to look their best,“ he added.

Ritika Arora, a 25-year-old who had lip augmentation through Juvederm fillers, says, “I am now looking to change the shape of my nose. I want to look my best during Navratri.“

For girls, even boys are opting for these treatments. Dr Mahima Bhatt of VĂ¡nama Clinic said youths and middle-aged men seek Botox treatment for glowing skin. “We give them Botox shots in the T-zone area of the face to impart a glow,“ she said.
